Some serious question are going to be asked by Ricardo tonight... I can't stand the spolt brat Verstappen to be honest, but I do think we are looking at the next Schumacher. What that means in actual fact is he will ruin F1 for a period, just like Michael did.
What's the thoughts on the Lewis/Nico crash, the opinions seems massively split. I really don't trust Nico, he comes across a real snake.
I think that's fair. It's a racing incident, pure and simple. If the stewards come down on this type of thing then we may as well give up. Nico was slow off the previous turn (Hamilton says he was in the wrong engine mode) and so LH went for the gap. Nico closed the door, moving only once and not in the breaking area. LH was committed and was left with no option other than the grass in order to avoid a collision. That's racing. They are both hard chargers who absolutely do not want to give anything away, and that's to be celebrated. I actually think it's fantastic that that happened - shows they are properly trying and that there are no bullshit team orders at Mercedes.
He was in the wrong engine mode, this was a good watch: http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12...wis-hamilton-and-nico-rosbergs-crash-analysed
I thought you had to leave a car's width. Which Ros didn't. At the end of the day, Ros screwed up the mode and should have paid the price as the overspeed was massive.
Something like 17kkph I think. You are supposed to leave a cars width if the front wing is alongside the back wheel, but like you say at that closing speed I don't know how the situation could have been different. Nico made a mistake with the engine mode that's for sure but I don't think he's wholly to blame for the collision - just racing.
60/40 i'd say, as you say not wholly but the accident could have been avoided without the rash defensive move. But on the other hand Hamilton could have backed off.
I know he's a bit of a bumbling old fool nowadays, but Jackie Stewart says Hamilton was to blame, and should be punished. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Lauda has said Hamilton has taken the blame and apologised. http://www.foxsports.com/motor/stor...hamilton-nico-rosberg-blame-niki-lauda-051616 Sounds like people are aware that Hamilton is on another one of his 'down cycles'. I thought he was rid of all that when he finally saw the back of Nicole Whatshername. But to provide a bit of balance, Villeneuve thinks Rosberg was to blame.
I'm not disagreeing with you but they do have 6 world championships between them. I've seen the picture already and that has been made to show that Rosberg was at fault, but all it really shows is a racing line and a defensive line. Rosberg is in front and is allowed to take whatever line he wants in all fairness. Again, just racing.
Not necessarily. If a driver has any part of his car along side the car they are trying to pass then at least one car width must be left. I think this move was overly aggressive by rosberg. And I think if roles were reversed a lot of people would still point the finger at Hamilton.
