Sound pipe - can it be blanked off?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Bilkos, Nov 15, 2015.

  1. Sound pipe, can it just be blanked off?

  2. Gonna answer my own question but given its just air being forced through a canister, can see it would make much difference?

Any pics of the said pipe

If it is what i think you are asking about, i think it's a breather pipe, then no

  4. It's a sound pipe that suppose to transfer the sound of the inlet into the cabin.

Ha Ha ha never have i heard of that

  6. It does exist. There is a pipe that goes through the bulk head near the air box. If you wanted to block it off just pull it out and seal the hole.

Why do you want to remove it?

  7. Waste of space in the engine bay :tongueout: Best way to access the worm
drive clamp is from underneath. Then either buy a radiator hose of similar diameter and cut it so it's only a few inches long, fit a plug in one end and clamp it tight, then fit it to the bung on the charge pipe.
