Recently I've noticed that sometimes there is a small cough from the exhaust when the engine has warmed up. However, the idle rpm is consistent, no ups or downs, there no warning messages or lights or the dash and the car drives fine. Just wondering if it's normal.

    Injectors. The infamous injector cough.

  3. Mine had this exact issue so I replaced coils and spark plugs which helped, however the cough was still there ever so slightly! I bought it November last year having sold my ctr fn2 so haven't had that long, many on here suggested cleaning injectors, which I know will help but since I bought mine I've ran it on she'll v power nitro + and intended getting injectors cleaned. I haven't done injectors yet but in the last few tanks of v power the cough has disappeared completely. One thing I wouldn't recommend is any kind of injector cleaning fluid as it triggered and ecu light on the dash with mine.

So, either get injectors cleaned circa 80 to 100 quid or run a good few tanks of v power through it and see if it disappears like mine. The most expensive option is injector replacement around 140 quid! Mine is low miles, high miles usually mean injectors cleaned!

  4. Thanks for the replies guys. The car has done 41k miles, so it's not low or high miles really. I'll try running on V-power and see if it gets better. If I do need to have the injectors done, are they covered under warranty or will they need to be done by a specialist?

  5. There's more knowledgeable than me on here, but I'm afraid it's all you, its a diy job if you know a thing or two. There's a postal exchange for cleaned injectors or buy some new and have them fitted. The video almost perfectly recreates my fault and its pretty much gone in the past few weeks with around 2 -3 months of vpower. Guy I bought off used supermarket fuel I always used vpower!

  6. It's worth getting the injectors done, you can usually get them done for around £90 exchange. I changed mine at 41k and got an immediate 2mpg improvement in economy.

£12.50 per injector. Some cars have 4, others have 5 and so on

  10. Great price!!
