Slightly embarrassing horn...

  1. Well hadn't realised how rubbish the horn is until I had someone cut me up today and when using my horn 'to make him aware' I realised it was incredibly muted and for a sports car I expected better!

Are they known for being poor or do we think I have a sour horn that needs replacing?

  2. I never use it as it is embarassing. Not as bad as my V6 Coupe I had before. Looked the business but had the most camp horn I have ever heard in my life. Someone cut me up once and I beeped as if to say "look out you muppet!" but instead I conveyed a feeble "meep". I almosy died of embarassment as he flipped me off. Never again.

  3. R26

    R26

That'll certainly get the point across!

  4. Yeah the term 'meep' doesn't show how bad the horn is! I am embarrassed to use it!

Anyone recommend (apart from horn blisters!) a good sensible one to buy??

  5. It's a two-tone dual horn so are you sure both the high and low are working? As it shouldn't meeeeep at all.

  6. My horn packed in completely recently, but since having it replaced it is a good bit louder and thankfully isn't a postman pat's van number! I think the horn from Renault is about £50 and you can replace it without having to pull the bumper off

  7. the horn on the 265 is pathetic as well, and here in Panama the horn is pretty much used daily several times

  8. Can you tell me how, I think the connectors have just come off mine.

  9. If you get a plastic trim removal tool on the underside of the grills next to the Renault badge, you can pop them out. Chances are the horn has Seized rather than become unconnected though!

  10. Ah ok thanks, I have some of those.
