Just seeing what people think a shot engine is worth if anything. cambelt broke on it, it's only covered 24k bores have been checked with a borescope and pistons and walls look fine, was quoted £400-500 to repair depending on how many valves are damaged by fred at btm, I even bought a new cambelt kit from renault but a really low mileage engine came up for sale and I snapped it up. engines never been opened up.
Considering non valve bent engines make over £1000, £250 would be a bargain! £250 in parts would see this right relying on no valve guide or head damage. Would this fit a 225/R26 head? Cheap upgraded bottom end if so?
yeah my mates who are into meg's are saying the same, they go a shot engine went for £500 on ebay about a year ago and valves and valve guides can be bought cheap, hopefuly there aren't a lot of valves bent so can be an easy fix for someone I just don't have the space at the moment.
