Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by mike100, Jan 14, 2014.

  1. Looking for someone that can fit a modified short shift gear linkage onto a megane R26 in Surrey ideally near Gatwick. My usual mechanic has let me down on this and I need it done asap. Thanks guys

  4. I am going to purchase one too and have a go at fitting it might need some help or if I succeed might be able to provide some! I am 20 minutes from Gatwick.

Glad we sorted it Mike and it's made the difference.

  9. As i have said before..there are not many people that will put themselves out to help these days.
It was the same when i ordered my injectors from Ed..he did exactly what he said he would, in record time.

Club spirit alive and kicking...thanks ED,thats very generous and kind of you,you are a diamond sir..cheers mate

Ps..i will have to put you on the payroll as a outside contractor ED...looks like u will be in demand!!

  10. So there you go mike..who was this renault expert who said it couldnt be done...thank fk for ED.

  11. Exactly. Obviously he could be arsed to do it. Thanks again Ed

  12. Also Andy, ill pop the old one in the post tomorrow so or will hopefully be with you on Thursday

  13. When do you think you can get your exchange in the post?..we are getting swaped with orders and need returns fast!
    ps..just seen the above!!..cheers mate

  14. What's involved in fitting? Easy enough with your average trolly jack and socket set?

  15. Don't think you need a Jack... remove battery tray and air box... pull linkages of the shifter thing and replace.... There's a guide somewhere which is very helpfull... I'm sure I got mine off Andy too and have had it on the car going on 2/3 years without fault!! Took my mechanic 45 mins or so to do the whole job. .. bosh!!

  16. Oh right! I'm still used to RWD cars, with the gearbox more-or-less under the gearstick.

  17. These aren't as bad as that... relatively straightforward if you have knowkedge and tools

  18. If you join meganesport.net..the full fitment guide is there.
I have to get round to making a new one for this site..

  19. I did supply yours charlie..a way back though!
