225 shocks? differences between lux and cup?

  1. Right......does anyone know why the 225 PH2 std shocks on the lux are different from the 225 PH2 Cup??

  2. Because they're cup shocks. Does your lux have the Cup pack?

  3. No mate. As far as i know its just lux pack. But i still dont get what the difference is between them? Are they longer/shorter/wider/thinner etc etc

  4. You mean the shock itself? They are both exactly the same looks & fitment wise. It's the internal gubbings that are different.

  5. It's the damping rate that is different.

Inside the damper it will be fitted with different size valves and maybe different oil with a different viscosity to resist the movement of the piston. Hence stiffer.

  6. ahh i see....so the shock will still fit? What is the better shock? Cup or R26?

  7. Yeah they will fit your car. Cup & R26 shocks are the same.

Folk will tell you different probably.

  8. They are all made by KYB too.
