  1. i saw the new trophy r at Goodwood pistonhead sunday service today i always loved the idea of it when it was announced and on paper and in promo shots it looked good but after seeing it in real life i was so disappointed

it feels all too bitty and a bit rushed and like a cartoon car.

dont think r26r will be swapped anytime soon

  2. Cartoon car, bitty ?

It's all the colours ain't it. See what you mean. Doesn't offend me but I can see why it's marmite.

Gotta admit I like the red bit on the front splitter though.

  4. I prefer the looks of the R26.R probably - but if my hands were on that alcantara steering wheel I wouldn't care what it looks like much

  5. It'd be better with black wheels IMO.

  6. the colour scheme with the black red and white with the large side line graphics and trophy r sticker on front splitter make it look like a cartoon sketch. the megane 3 looks a complete car and this looked cheaper. interior was nice though with leather recaros like in r26r and i love an alcantara steering wheels, my dad has one on his car and they are so nice

my mate said it was racing around goodwood trackday yesterday and said it isnt the bes sounding car either, but i cannot verify that.

it just didnt put a smile on my face like #156 does

  7. No matter how hard I try I still can't bring myself to like it. I drove the Trophy round Goodwood and found it uninspiring.

  8. I leathered one round oulton , nice car but boring after getting out of the rawer R , nice car though

  9. Shock horror r26r owners don't like their cars replacement  haha

  10. I said its a nice car

  11. So Steve - you've driven both the new 275 trophy and trophyR?

Pretty good if so as I've had a Trophy on order since the beginning of October and haven't had a single test drive offered.

Can you give a little more views other than 'boring' unless that really is all there is to say?

Boring after getting out his R, I assume? I can see why he would say that. One is a focused trackday car, The other isn't.

Both great cars in their own way

  13. How is a trophy r not a focused track day car ? Haha

Eh? If you re read what i original posted I assumed he was on about his own R26.R, Not the Trophy-R.

Either way my comment still stands if its against the .R or the -R

  15. Anyone who has attended a Renault sport teackday has probably driven a trophy. Very capable cars. Can only imagine the trophy-r is more so.

  16. Drove the trophy not the R at a renaultsport day, like I say it was a lovely car very smooth and fast , but like I say not as raw as you would expect I'm sure the new R will be a different animal, Nearlly ordered one myself and got a great price £35,600 inc ring pack and 2 spare wheels and tyres , I'm sure you'll love it

  19. Nice picture. I think both the Trophy and Trophy R look fantastic. It certainly doesn't look as garish in a more subtle colour combo and with black wheels.

  20. That does look great.

Thanks for the expanded review Steve. I can't help but feel that the new R will bring the prices of the older one down though. Bit like ph1 and ph2 Clio V6's. I may be wrong of course

  21. i don't think the prices will vary to much as the v6's looked very similar between ph1 and 2 where as the trophy r and r26r are very different cars

  22. You'll love it, like I say I very nearly ordered one myself, just very rarely use the R as it is
