Running in Forged engine

    What mineral oil have you used to run in your engines?

    You can buy specific running in oil, at opie oils. :smile:

    I used millers cro 5w40 mineral oil and changed it at 50,100,200,500,1000 and switched to millers fully synthetic 10w60 for 6000 miles...

    Just bought all millers stuff.

    Steven878 thats excessive changes isnt it? I couldnt find any 5-40 CRO running in oil they only had 10-40

    I am using the Millers 10w40 mineral running in oil

    10w40 will be fine mate.

    i did go a bit excessive with the oil changes, but I wanted to make sure everything was spot on, so I changed the oil and filter and checked for glitter while running in my £5700 engine :smile:

    The oil seems to be one of the highest costs for my build!!

    Oil and filters cost me a good couple of hundred quid!

    10w60 was around £100 for 6 litres!!
