275 RS275 LSD

  1. Hi I was wondering if anyone could help with some info on the LSD fitted as standard in the RS275. I have a Cup Premium. I think it is an Australian edition. Not sure if there is a UK equivalent. Here is a web link.

My understanding is that it is a road going trophy-R so same good bits except the front brakes are not Trophy-R
    Anyway onto my problem.
My bluetooth music normally comes on automatically when I start the car and stop it. It gets interrupted by phone calls but normally restarts. (i'm just explaining why it got so far)
Yesterday for some reason the music didn't restart and I heard a whining sound. Similar to a dud wheel bearing. Called into a local mechanic (I was far from home) to make sure my gearbox hadn't lost oil and when he turned the wheel there was a clunking shuddering noise. So it seems i might have a busted diff. After nursing it home I did some googling and discovered many RS275 suffered from dodgy LSD specifically the bearings. They seemed to be all fixed under warranty but I am rightly pissed off because I have just under 30,000km and the 5 year warranty just ran out in Feb.
Anyway it looks like I am going to have to wear the cost of fixing it but when I google RS275 LSD nothing comes up for sale.
Does anybody know if there are any aftermarket LSD for this model or am I stuck with genuine. I assume there must be OEM as Renault wouldn't make their own LSD and I'm less than impressed with the quality of the factory one suffice to say.
I'm asking the UK forum as Renaults are much more popular there and there seems to be a better aftermarket industry.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  2. It's the bearings in the diff that are the issue, I replaced mine in my old 275 at about 31,000 miles.

You can get them here: here: https://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=5776&appid=20

or you can get a Gripper LSD but it definitely isn't the cheapest option (not sure how similar this would be to the factory one) - https://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/g...ed-slip-differential-megane-3-rs-tl4-pk4.html
