Out in the car. Pull out of a junction fine. Shift into second, grind, try again, grind and again. Pull over and try put it into 2nd, seems to go in fine, then try set off and it's just grinding. All other gears are fine. any thoughts as I have no idea lol? Rung garage and now just waiting for them to get back to me. I know other people have also been having issues with their gearboxes. I suggest you go get them checked out lol.
its fine now lol. Drove about 2 miles down the road afterwards and it still wouldn't go in. Then it did and it's been fine since. What's that about? Anyway it's still getting booked in tomorrow so it can get looked at. But, in a way, I wish it was still doing it so the garage could experience it for themselves.
An update for you all. Took the car back to Renault this morning so they could have a look at it. Just got a phonecall back from them. The gearbox needs replacing after 3120 miles. What a load of bollocks. And I know mines not the first 275 which this has happened to. I think Renault need to do a recall.
It's annoying but on the plus side, they have admitted fault, they are fixing it and it's not costing you a penny.
Why do you think a recall? Mines fine at 5k miles. I'm not saying it won't go the same way but I don't see a need for a recall. All cars have issues - it's about how they are handled that's important IMHO.
Because I've seen a fair few people on these forums with gearbox problems. And I've heard of at least one more person who has had to have their box replaced too.
It's hardly an epidemic of gearbox failures though. Not exactly on the scale of the issues with the Clios and they didnt even recall those.
