Hi all... I recently got an RS265. Lovely car but does have a few issues that need sorting. Biggest one for now is the car needs a new thermostat. Symptoms are: Coolant not getting up to temp Oil temp constantly displayed as <70 Rad fan is permanently on Cold limiter at 5500rpm My issue is.... I can't get hold of a thermostat! I've tried Renault Parts Direct, numerous Renault dealers & my local mechanic can't get hold of one either. Everywhere is sold out! I'm just wondering if anyone here knows where is stocking them at the moment? If not, what would be the best brand to go for? Gates? Mahle? I want it sorted asap, but don't want to have to get it fixed it a few months down the line due to a rubbish part. Cheers, Xenoous
maybe you could try kamracing. Replaced mine 4 weeks ago and was still in stock in the Netherlands / Belgium
Thanks. My mechanic just messaged say he's managed to source a genuine part. Ill get in touch with kam racing if this falls through.
I've just installed a gates stat over the weekend, although unsure with it's longevity, the problems I was having have disappeared. Coolant temp now sits just over the middle line and stays there, whereas the old thermostat (because it opened prematurely) never allowed the coolant and engine to meet operating temperatures.
