Hi, just noticed that my car has begun to have an irregular squak that seems to be wheel related rather than engine bay thank god. Has anyone had any experience if this and what was the suggested fix. Sprayed pads with the pressure washer so doesn't seem to be anything stuck. The outer pads look like they've life in them not sure about inner pads though as can't get easy access. Seems to brake ok though. Maybe bearing related? Any ideas or quick checks would be ideal gents.
Probably should add that I've tried the braking hard to deglaze the pads etc but the squeak seems to actually be noticeable as low speeds and is present without pressing the brakes. Could be bearings or maybe the pad isn't easing off so the brakes itself may require attention. Any suggestions would be welcome rather than the usual Renault inspection bill. Cheers
If standard pads, change them, ive heard renault changed the compound, but i went with yellow stuff pads, now not a single squeek.
Hi mate had this problem it must be common the inner brake pad seizes to the caliper and won't fully release just stripped it down and cleaned it up with a bit of copper slip on pad edges
Super, thanks for the info, need to change wheels nuts over so may as well give the pads a check and give it all a clean whilst I'm there too
