RS250 Recaro seat wear.

  1. Hi guys,

As my car is now out of warranty what are my options when it comes to sorting out the wear on the bolster on the base of the drivers seat?

Do Renault do a foam and replacement cover kit or am I looking at taking to an upholsterers?

    Cheers Daryl

  2. Call Renault UK. They may contribute towards it, even after warranty.

  3. I think this would be a long shot as my car is 4 years old now but might be worth asking.

Has anyone had any luck getting something from them after the warranty as expired?

  4. Even when mine was in warranty with only 12k on the clock RUK would still only contribute 50% towards a new base and I had to pay for fitting!

  5. Can I ask how much you had to pay in the end Ben? Can you remember the price for the base?

  6. Are these the cloth seats?

Depends if it is worth getting it re-covered for it to happen again? unsure how much it is to get them re-trimmed in a better material so they last!

  7. They paid for repair of my wiring loom on Laguna mk3 when it was 8 months after warranty. They also provided replacement car for 4 weeks. I was dealing with lady called Claire Marston. She was excellent and helpful. Sorted my issue straight away. It was about 3 years ago, but you may try to contact her.

  8. I can't see the page on cliosport even when signed, I take it you need to be a full member. However the seats on edge look great and was the sort of thing I was look at it I can't get a simple fix.

If I went the leather route I'd have to have them heated as my SWMBO moans when it's cold as my previous car head them.

    Any ideas on price?

  9. The base in yellow stitching was £440 so i paid £220 and £20 fitting.

Offt stuff that, I would be going to a full retrim instead tbh.

Mine have some wear on the bolsters, Not that fussed at the moment but when it gets bad they will be getting retrimmed in Alcantara and Leather

  11. The previous owner had the driver seat re-trimmed on my 250 Cup, Renault did this free of charge for him, did a good job, you wouldn't know it had been done unless you look very closely.

The interior re-trims by Edge Automotive do look fantastic, I saw a Clio 200 up close and the quality was absolutely spot on, every bit a good as a factory finish. This was discussed on renaultsport.co.uk a while back and someone added a list of all the prices, I kept a copy as I'd love to have the Recaro's done in my 250 at some point.

  12. I'm trying to get my recaro bases on warranty they want a picture of the wear

  13. Had my drivers side full seat replaced as it had wear in both base and back bolster plus the height adjust wasn't working properly. This was late last year, RUK met all the costs, the car was just over 12 months old and it was done through the dealers.

Is it the cloth wearing or is the foam also shot?

  14. I had a quote of £60 from mintmyride.com in Nottingham to spray over the damage with a matching colour leather repair. Sold the car before I did it but even replacing it will do it again.

  15. The cloth is showing a bit of wear and the foam is a bit flat I was thinking of
getting leather or are they bad as we'll

  16. Did you get this resolved in the end??

  17. I'm just going to live with it as it is just.

It's not that bad to be honest.
I thought it was looking worse after being on the ferry. I'm putting that down to us having to stand/shuffle over it to get out of 1 door as we where tight up against the wall.

  18. I asked Renault Manchester to look at the bolster wear on driver's Recaro seat at the 25k service on my 265 and they replaced the base FOC!
