  1. I'm trying to sell my 2011 Megane for best part of 4 months car but no ones taking the bait so I'm probably going to end up selling to a dealer in the next month for a rubbish trade price.

Before I do would anyone with a black leather car with standard R.S. seats be interested in upgrading and swapping out the seats from mine? Having the Glorious Recaros seems to have no effect on trade value so I'm open to offers? Ive seen them advertised for £1000 plus so open to offers to p/x with std seats a sensible price? It has to be worth the hassle or I'll leave them in.

    Opinions welcome! Thanks

  2. Got these in mine and they are deffo worth paying the money for! And these look mint. I would also put a p/x add up on eBay mate should go quickly.

  3. Where are you based and what kind of money were you thinking about as part-x?

  4. I would just leave them in, you already said they seem to make no difference in price and seems like a load of ball ache for no gains

  5. Based in Bristol.

If I was keeping the car I'd definitely leave them in. But I'm not, and nobody wants to buy the car at anything above trade value because of the mileage and I've got a lease car coming soon for work.

I'm guessing the wiring harnesses should exist for the standard seats??

  6. To give you an idea of the level of despair with the used demand for these cars I've advertised here, Gumtree, Pistonheads and Autotrader

In 4 months I've had precisely zero viewings, 3 questions and 1 phone call. And the car is top condition, priced low so I'm convinced it's the mileage that's the issue. Any tips welcome!

  10. seems like a bargain to me, i think people flap too much still about high milage cars

  11. Yep, everyone who's been in the car thinks I'm bullshitting when I tell them it's near 100k on the clock.

I used to run an R19 16v many years ago with 140k on the clock and was perfect, this is the same but without the rattles. If it was German nobody would bat an eyelid.

I conclude that most people are fools!

  12. The problem is likely the mileage, but not necessarily what the potential buyer of your car feels...more the thoughts of other potential buyers for that car in the future. If you're struggling to sell at under 100k, how hard would it be to move it on beyond 100k with people's misconceptions?

If the general consensus by the vast majority was that 100k is 'nothing' then it would sell. Sadly, that consensus doesn't exist.
I do think your best bet is to swap out the seats and sell the car for a lower price as your enquiring about.

  13. How much are you after. I have standard leather in good condition. Maybe interested

  14. Pm sent

  15. That mileage is a killer. Plus you have see it from the buyers point of view. You can get one for a couple of grand more with low mileage, so where is your market?

It's a steep curve of undesirability on any car near 100K miles, plus people like renting the newer stuff today on PCPs and hand them back with low miles after they realise they can't afford the balloon. The fact that they get bent over with repeated PCP cycles doesn't register. Times have changed.

Personally, if you have put big miles on it then it has paid for itself so moving it on shouldn't be too painful.

  16. Keep it mate, You won't find better for the money. Mines on similar mileage and has come to point where it's worth more to me then the what the current market is offering. I'd probably need to spend 20k+ to replace it with something more enjoyable.

I'm planning on keeping it until it starts failing apart.

  17. The buyer that doesn't have that extra couple of grand. On the value we're talking about that's a huge percentage.

OR a buyer like me who would put 30k a year on the car. The differential advantage of a lower mileage car would be swallowed up in no time.

  18. Thanks all, wish I could keep it, its funded by my work car allowance and technically is too old and too high emissions to comply with the employers rules. I've still got a personal loan on it too so can't justify paying the loan and the lease cost of a new car.

    It sucks.

  19. Are these still available? I have standard leather and would be interested. What sort of price are looking at?

  20. Hi

I've had some offers, but I've got the car on Ebay as it is at the moment, so I'm holding fire, if it doesn't get what I need I will be looking into doing this.

I'm after £600 plus standard seats or I might buy some standard seats and put the sportsters for sale and see what happens.

  21. Hi Smifter,
Does the car have any modifications?
What tyres are you running and how much wear is left?
When was the cam belt done?
    When was the last service?

Pm me if you don't want to post it all on here.

    Grant
