Ok, I spoke to Mark Black about how he fitted chudley05's exhaust. Basically he die ground out the rear sleeve so that it fitted further onto the joint. After that, and another 45 mins of jiggling, he managed to get the exhaust on and fitted without fouling. He also said the same as Rentec, that it is the worst fitting exhaust he has ever fitted! Lol Will go back to Mark at Whybee and see what he says about this. Might also give Scorpion a phone and see what they say too! Coincidentally, I haven't heard a thing about the order at all.
I had to play about with mine, also I had the original design decat which I had to modify to fit, mark did send me a second decat though Either way I managed to get it to sit nicely and fit without any grinding, chopping or major surgery. I've fitted some exhausts in my time, from past experience piper were some of the best fitting with janspeed not far behind.
Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on cancelling my order as trying to get a turbo-back with sports cat any cheaper than this group buy will be tricky! Just want to try and pass the info on so maybe Mark and/or Scorpion might be able to adjust to system for the better
It would be nice to get some input from Scorpion on this issue, and there clearly is an issue. Rentec had to modify mine to get it to fit, and looking at the previous few posts, Mark Black had to modify it too.
Has anyone heard any news on this? I haven't heard anything in a couple of weeks and I am wondering when the exhaust will turn up?
Not a clue, am picking up a few other bits to go stg 2. Have a RS250 turbo, still looking for intercooler and bigger injectors..
Anyone got one of these fitted to a DCI 175? And which one would be the package to go for so there are no parts left over? xD
Got my exhaust today, parcel was huge! Need to find a time to get it fitted, am well excited. First time I have fitted a sports exhaust to one of my cars
I had a local garage do it, said it was shit to fit, sits slightly proud out the bumper But hey.... It's on
I've had mine fitted for about 600 miles, when's I've been on a good run it pops on over run and in between gear changes
Had mine fitted today, was also told it was a nightmare to fit! They spent 2 hours just adjusting it, so that it doesn't hit/rattle against anything. Still got a slight rattle over speed bumps, but should be able to sort that with a bit of tweaking. Had a long journey on the motorway with it, no droning/booming which is good. Will hopefully have a video in the next week or two. Very pleased with it, would recommend it to others, just get someone else to fit it!
Pretty much the same as my experience, although mine still rattles pretty bad over most bumps/manhole covers in the road.
This sounds pretty poor. Not like a one off if most of you have had issues with it - What have Scorpion said about it? I had a scorpion on my 197 and it wasn't a great fit either, needed adjustment every few months to stop it rubbing the diffuser and that was after i'd cut bigger holes out of it to get more clearance. It sounded great though and would consider one for my megane as it's got big exhaust openings in the bumper so I thought there would be no issues, but evidently not!
Not sure if anyone else has contacted Scorpion, but I tried twice and never got a call back. Will probably chase it up again soon. I'm also pretty sure mine has gotten worse since it was fitted since it seems to be rattling now on anything other than a smooth road. It definitely needs looking at again but I'm at a loss as to who to take it to At the moment mate, I'd hesitate to recommend it due to the fitment issues, but it does sound good and it's fairly quiet at motorway cruising speeds.
I would contact rs240 again mate and see what they said, the might be able to contact scorpion on your behalf they might have more joy with them being a supplier. Sorry about the fitting issues through gents.
There's longlife centre fairly close to me, I've been thinking about taking it there. Is that the sort of place you mean?
