It seems that rather sooner than latter, my clutch is letting me down. So, I need to put something back. I want to know if people changed they're clutch and what option did they opted for. And even more important, did you needed to change the DMF aswell or it was ok? My car is around 110k miles now and I don't know if this is the first clutch or the second....or third. S.
Mines on its way out now at 46k you're lucky at 110k if it's on its first! Or I'm unlucky Not had mine done yet, but it's getting worse,. Cost wise you are looking at least £1100 including the DMF. The book time for the job is 11 hours so it's advised to do the DMF while it's all in bits and at that mileage I would change it. I'm having mine done as said at 46k. As far as clutch options we're very very limited, I can't find any uprated clutches at all, off the shelf anyway. I can only find custom friction plates, I shall be going that route at RSTuning.
I'd say at 110k it's on its first clutch and been driven lightly. All the clutches on the dervs ive owned have failed at around that milage.
Could be a sticking release arm which will give the same symptoms. or if your car's been used in stop start traffic even day (like my van on the m60 lol) it takes its toll on the clutch.
There is an uprated version from Sachs Performance with 15% more torque. You can give Rob at clutchstop.co.uk a message about this. S.
