  1. Had my wheels in for a refurb and the lad has managed to put a bolt in at an angle and knackered the thread on the near side front. What are the options to fix?

    Cheers

  2. New hub

  3. Can you not helicoil it?

  4. get a new hub, make them fix properly :tongueout:

  5. Can't believe it. A moment of joy seeing the wheels then dispair when he threaded the wheel hub. Ahh well.

Does the part press in to the hub? I'm handy with the tools so can fit myself if it's easy.

And yes, they are paying for the lot don't worry. The guy was really apologetic about everything

  6. Same thing happened to me, bolt thread fine, hub thread mangled, fixed it by running a taper tap down the hub thread followed by a plug tap, worked perfectly and all fine for the cost of 2 taps.

  7. Trying running a tap through it first.

  8. Yep this is the plan. Tap kit ordered so fingers crossed

  9. I did the same and managed to save it with a tap then put studs on so as not to do it again

  10. Managed to re tap the thread today. Phew!
