250 Roof antenna removal

  1. I want to wrap my roof, but do not want to really cut around the antenna. I prefer to have the wrap sit under and beneath the antenna. I guess I do not need to completely remove the antenna, but is there a way to loosen the antenna base easily? The only way I can see is to remove the headlining, but removing the headlining is a rather painstaking task as it requires removal of many other parts and plus the battery has to be disconnected for air-bag precaution.

Just thinking if there is a way to just drop the rear section a little of the headlining to be able to access the antenna bracket?

    Thanks

  2. Youll need to remove the two clips you see when you open your tailgate.
Remove the roof grab handles at the rear.
You may be able to prise the headliner out of the C pillar trims and the B pillar trims and get it to drop down just enough.

Theres then a nut on the bottom which you can undo, and a connection for the arial wire which you can undo.

Be careful not to crease the headliner though
