My car has just started revving on it's own. A message came up saying engine failure but has not came up since I restarted the car. I have plugged in a code reader which has shown no fault. Any help welcome. Cheers
maybe a dirty throttle body? It's easy to check and easy to fix just by cleaning it. Gesendet von meinem SM-G900F mit Tapatalk
(Correct me if I'm wrong) when it's cold the car has higher revs as when it's warmer ... maybe that's it? My car does it and it does sound like it's revving itself.
If it's come up with an error, it should have stored the fault even if the error is no longer showing or present. Is the car still under warranty? Engine failure sounds bad - I'd be getting it booked in pronto. Any faults with the throttle control could be lethal.
Took the car to the garage today and they are saying it's the throttle position sensor. Hopefully it should sort it as the throttle sticking on isnt very fun.
