Hi All, I’m an ex 250 Cup owner (DG11 WZN if anybody on here has it now) and have dug my login details out as I’m very interested in the new RS Megane really looking forward to seeing and reading everything about them on here. Old Car and current A45 below, I seem to have a thing for Grey with Black Wheels. Thanks Andy
I would love to hear your comparison thoughts. I was on track at Bedford a couple of weeks ago in my R26 (267BHP) and followed a45 AMG for a fair bit. It pulled away from me on the long straight, but not by as much as I thought it would. Decent driver through most turns. I nearly rear ended him when we went through the chicane the joins the two back straights because he slowed down too much. It appeared to have great road holding but didn't seem as nimble as the Megane, i.e. fast direction changes. Could be the weight differential? Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
You’ve summed it up very well, not as nimble as the RS but more stable, quick direction changes aren’t the A45’s thing but the road holding and traction are immense, what year was the one you were following? They made a lot of changes to the facelift version in 2016, gear ratios, power, suspension etc They are lardy cars, a few on A class forum have had theirs on weigh bridges and they are seeing 1600kg wet with no options, the pan roof on its own adds another 60kg so I think an easy 200kg weight diffence between your RS and the A45. I have the Dynamic + pack which gives me adjustable adaptive damping and a front mechanical LSD, I was really impressed how fast I could slingshot out of Shell Oils at Oulton, it just grips and goes.
