Required resistance values for RS265 Recaro CS seat position switch

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Broomy, Jun 26, 2023.

  1. Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone had the resistance value for the seat position switch to satisfy the ECU.

I currently getting intermittent faults relating to the switch. (Varying resistance readings).
So I want to bin it off and put a resistor in line instead.

(Switch is part of the Recaro seat loom... Which is retarded)

    Thanks in advance

  2. Looking at following link (I assume same for Recaro seats)
    https://www.renaultforums.co.uk/threads/megane-3-06-1-9-dci-st-airbag-light.566034/

"The resistance of the seat position sensor can be checked using the diagnostic tools: - Seat forward: sensor resistance = 400 Ω - Seat back: sensor resistance = 100 Ω"

As you can see on the attached schematic, the circuitry checks for continuity as well as position.

I would however recommend fixing the sensing arrangement as opposed to defeating it.

  3. Brilliant thanks for the link and the info.
I had determined it was the position switch. Unfortunately getting intermittent reading of 90ohms was resulting in the airbag light.

I don't like the car enough to spend £218+vat on a complete seat loom.

But I'll try and source a replacement switch if I can find one that provides thos same resistance values
