R26 Replacing Pirelli PZeros

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Ninja636, Jan 21, 2017.

  1. Hi, just wanted people's thoughts on these, as mine are getting low. They came already fitted to my R26 when I brought it a couple of months ago. Fronts are down to three mill as is near side rear. Little bit closer to the limit on offside rear. So my questions are

    A) what are people's thoughts on PZeros?
    B) are there any good alternatives?
    C) do people usually change all four tyres at once or two at a time (front or rear)?

My R26 is modified to 285bhp and 300fbt so don't won't to put cheap tyres on. But also don't want too soft a compound that they won't last five minutes!

  2. There's so many choices but many people rate Michelin Pilot sport 3 and 4's for all round performance, combined with good lifespan. Not sure how much they cost compared to Pzero's.

If you have the cash then it's best to change all 4 together, and rotate them front to back periodically

  3. Goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 2s

  4. How much grip compared to Pzeros?

  6. They very good and I would say they are better than the Pirellis look at the ratings..

  7. Never tried PZero but they're up there with the best of them, apart from soft track orientated tyres of course

    Ninja636 likes this.
  8. We're up to 3 now, good choice anyway.
I'd consider Yokohama 105s as a tyre with more positive turn in and better control/feel thx to the stiffer sidewalls. That chassis deserves it.

  9. You can still get the 2s and I think they are a better tyre, slightly softer compound?
The 2s have a reasonable built in protection too..
The 3 is not quite as crippy but will last longer..

Ive not used the Yoko's so I cant comment, but they do have good reviews,

  10. P zeros are great I'm runnning them on my Megane I've never had them before on a car until I bought my RS last year. I've always had Bridgestone or Michelins But I must say the Pzeros are just as good. They look great aswell.

  11. P zeros are greeat in dry roads. Grip on wet roads is good as long as you won't do spirited driving.
