Hey guys, been having problems with my steering column so a mechanic mate of mine replaced it with another unit (2nd hand). Everything was swapped over but the car wouldn't start. He tried swapping over the steering lock box's as well but that hasn't done anything. Spoke to a bloke about it after and he said that the steering column is coded to the key so a new column wouldn't work. Not sure the truth on this but apparently I'd need a "De-virginised" column. Anybody replaced theirs before? Some advice would be greatly appreciated before I start seeing how costly this could end up getting. Cheers Paul
I replaced mine and it worked, the only thing that's coded is the steering lock box as far as the column goes, have you tried to start it with the old one to rule out the steering column issue, perhaps a fuse somewhere! Hope you get it sorted Sent from my P1000 using Tapatalk
