Rentec Autocare in Edinburgh - 10% new customer Intro

Discussion in 'Dealer and Specialists Feedback' started by papps, Apr 15, 2015.

  1. Alright guys: was at Rentec today to quickly have my IC fitted....and they gave me a 10% voucher off anywork for a new customer....

If anyone in the central belt and surrounding areas of Scotland needs a RenaultSport specialist to do anything ping me a message and you can have the voucher for 10% off; FYI my full service was £160 all in, and belts were £400 all in with OEM parts when I had them done there last year

  2. +1 on Rentec.

Have been using them for the last couple of years and they have been brilliant on my car. Are able to do swivel hub bearings, steering rack bushes as well as major/minor services

  3. £400 for belts sounds very reasonable indeed. I have a cambelt receipt when I bought my Megane with water pump for over £800!!!!

  4. I'm planning to get my car serviced by them when I'm in Edinburgh in June. It would be a bit far to travel normally, but since I'm already in Edinburgh, it makes sense to get a service done when I'm already there.

  5. Nice ride out for you in your newly mapped car as well Ben. Lucky sod!

  6. +1 here also, can't praise them enough, they got my business with my 197 and now onto the 250. Had extensive work done to my Clio and the work was spot on and very fairly priced, also had them check over the megane thoroughly when I bought it, very professional!

  7. Heard nothing but good reviews about rentec, glad we have some top quality professionals on our doorstep to offer us great services, I myself use swr in Stirling as they are a little closer but couldn't fault them at all, they know these cars inside out

  8. Totally agree mate, this is my first renault sport, but its a strong other reason to keep buying them, having first class mechanics at very reasonable prices is such a load off the mind, plus its a great service history to have one of these specialists create for your car, I know if I was buying a car from round here I would jump at one that had a good history with either of these guys.

  9. Totally true mate, plus they do a far better job than Renault themselves and I feel I can trust these specialists more for some reason, miby because they know our passion for Renaultsport cars other than just taking money from us, plus way better priced than renault on labour costs

  10. I use Rentec for everything. Their work seems top quality and they're also very chatty about our cars. Definately know their stuff. And I'm lucky enough to live just down the road:smiley:

Had the timing belt kit and the dephaser pulley replaced for £550 all in i think it was. They really do give your car a good look at while its in to.

  11. Do they map?

  12. Nope,

They've fitted mods for me when I supplied the parts though....

  13. They're also having a RenaultSport / showcase open day type thing on a Saturday in July I think - could be a good local meet type thing if anyones up for it, I'll try and find the post on their FB about it......Also they literally know everything about renaults, so great guys to have a chat with over there.

  14. Yeah that's right, first Sunday in July if I remember correctly, I'll be there also!

  15. Aww, A week too late for me. I'm actually in Edinburgh, but the week before that sunday :worried:

  16. Great, be my first Renault meet. Or is that Megane Meet?

  17. First Renault meet for me too, any Renault I'm sure. I'm going to promote my recent Valeting/Detailing business venture so I'll need to set aside some time to get the Megane up to standard....time is something I'm running short on at the moment, poor car

  18. Gutted I won't make the meet at their place I'll still be on holiday.

For anyone thinking about using them just do it!

  19. Am looking forward to the open day, 5th July according to their fb

  22. Im booked in there for some work on the 22nd stevo, heard nothing but good stuff about them so knkw the meg will be in good hands

  23. I wouldn't see past them, they're the only people I trust with any of the renaultsports I've owned.

  24. Yup that would be me, much appreciated andreas, I've used SWR in the past who are top notch and know these cars inside out, but gave rentec an email and they managed to beat their price and with the 10% voucher on top of it even better, and also they are highly recommended

  25. Can't believe I'm gunna miss this by a week. I'm planning to book a service with them on the 29th as I'm up in Edinburgh for a few days for my sister's graduation, bad timing I guess :worried: Do you think if I asked nicely, they would throw in the free inspection or the discount, mentioning that I can't make it to the open day?

  26. Of course mate,

Rule 1 in life: if you don't ask, you don't get...

    They'd do a free inspection regardless I'm pretty sure, standard practise for them;

Also on your way up, get off the M74 for the A701 that goes through Moffat, and takes you all the way to the A720 (main city bypass) in Edinburgh, its only a little longer than the A702 (signposted on the M74 as the Edinburgh slip), has significantly less traffic and is an epic drivers road, its a shame to miss out on it mate! Just watch out in the villages as there can be safety cameras during the week...

  27. Its Junction 15

  28. Cheers papps, some good advice there. I'll be sure to ask when I get my service booked.

I had no idea about the A701 as we always go the A702 way. On this occasion though, I won't actually be driving to Edinburgh from Cumbria. I'm going to Croft for the BTCC on the Sunday then driving onto Edinburgh so it's going to be the A1. But depending on time, I may go back up the A66 and rejoin the M6, will have to see on the day
