Looking to have some basic things done on my Megane 250 like servicing, pads, etc. Don't want to goto a main dealer but don't fancy the 2 hour drive to K-TEC. Anyone know of any reputable garages? Regards Dan
Avoid k-tec mate, there ok for mail order but don't let them touch your car! down your way, i think you've got engine dynamics about an hour away in kelvedon, MWM motorsport in slough, i think danny at 519 automotive is around milton keynes although i'm not 100%
I am in Slough and drive to see Mark Black in Bolsover, might be over a 2 hr drive but pays to go to someone who will do things correctly for a good price.
Doesn't seem to be anywhere really good locally. I'd go to Fred @BTM. He's been looking after my renaultsports for the last 10yrs.
Another shout for Fred, Mark black or Mick at diamond motors in long Eaton. The holy trinity for me, the only folks I trust.
Anyone ever used Slough or Weybridge for servicing their 250/265/275? Renault west London have quoted £363 for a 37.5k service but weybridge have quoted £243 which i thought was too cheap?
A couple of the race cars had issues with their high comp engine builds he did and mapped and he just walked away from them. Another guy he had his car for months and did nothing to it. He shut up shop but has opened up again somewhere else AFAIK.
i live in harrow.. and travelled up to nottingham to see mick at diamond motors... good honest mechanic who would go out of his way to do that bit extra. All at a fair price and I've not got a bad thing to say. Its 250 miles round trip but worth it imo.
Just had mine serviced at Rentech, Hilsea, Portsmouth. Gearbox oil changed as well, it has made a big difference. I thought I was charged a good price and done in 3Hours
Bucks Auto in Aylesbury are Renaulsport specialists and they are very good - they prepare Clio race cars too.
I live in Harrow also, past 3 years the car has been serviced by Mark Fish, no issues. He isn't the cheapest but he does go over the car with a fine tooth comb top to bottom, I've always left his place a happy man.
Try posting on PH. TBH if its for routine work then there's no need for a specialist, it is just a megane tbh, just a nice, fast one.
