Usual Refinements – Climate Control, Auto Xenon’s, Auto Wipers, Cruise Control, LSD Etc.. upload foto Hi and thanks for looking at my advert. I’ve tried to be as honest as possible here because making things up benefits neither of us. I’m selling the car simply because I don’t use it enough to justify the cost when I should be saving for more grown up things. I frequently find myself taking it out for a drive on the weekend just so it isn’t sitting for too long (about 10 days is my cut off – any longer and I like to get it all warmed up etc). I’m in no rush to sell and am not looking for a part exchange. I won’t bore you with all the standard specs of the car as you likely know them to have arrived here. The car has never been on a track under my 2.5 years of ownership, nor has it been used as a daily driver or commuter. It has always been a weekend car only. I’ve been religious about warming it up before going above 3000rpm / any boost and cooling down when appropriate. The aircon is also used on a frequent basis to stop any seals drying out. Since my ownership only three people have ever looked after my car; Josh Cook at Cooksport, Andy Greer at Clio turbo, and most recently Mark Black – all are Renault experts and well known in the owners clubs. There is no issue with test drives for serious buyers should you have the correct paperwork to prove insurance and I accompany you. However we need to remember the car has a paddle clutch and I live in outer London, with traffic, so common sense has to be applied to this scenario. Engine The engine currently has approximately 9833 miles on it. I purchased it with approximately 2000 miles on from Cooksport, who also installed it. It has always started first time, every time without hesitation. The specification of the engine is as follows: - Custom CP Pistons - Manley Conrods - Ported 225/R26 Cylinder Head with 3 Angle valve seats - ARP Head Stud Kit - ARP Con-rod Bolt kit - ARP Main stud Kit - ACL Big end Race Bearings - Helix Style lightweight flywheel - Helix Paddle Clutch - Hybrid Turbo - 630cc Injectors - Larger Core Intercooler - ITG Panel filter and ‘Air Box Mod’ Suspension, Tyres & Brakes The suspension is completely standard. If you’re looking for an R26 you know they already handle mint, and I had no intention of ruining its ability to clear speed bumps and ramps etc. The car has 4x Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres plus a full sized matching spare with brand new PS3 in the boot. All four wheels have very recently been refurbished and are in excellent condition. Front Tyres: ~3.3mm Rear Tyres: ~5.2mm Standard Renault Rear Discs & Pads fitted 4930 miles ago. Standard Renault Front Discs & Pads (& pins) fitted 5883 miles ago. Bodywork In general the bodywork is in very good condition, however it is not perfect. It is true and straight but with a few marks as you would expect from a car of this age. The front bumper has recently been blown over to remove stone chips and a small car park ding taken out the passenger door, resulting in most of that side being re-sprayed to blend it in perfectly. I’ve always washed it using a pre-foam then two bucket method with wash mitts etc, it would definitely benefit from a day with a good machine polish though. Remap & Power The car has been remapped by Paul at RS Tuning, with the usual conditions to remove the emissions warnings & single mass flywheel warning. It’s most recent run & mapping was October 2014 where the car made 305bhp & 345lb/ft. Paul tells me a better turbo would allow for more BHP as it would hold boost higher up the revs, torque would stay much the same. Personally I was happy with what it has, torque is the fun push in the back and it has more than enough power anyway. The benefit of this is that the engine is clearly no-where near its power or stress limits. Exhaust The car has a 2.75” K-Tec de-cat fitted, which was installed with the new engine. In October 2015 I had a full custom 3” cat-back system installed from AAS in Newcastle. The quality is second to none, these guys are as good as it gets. Interior The interior is standard and in good condition, I’ve done nothing here. There is a 3.5mm audio jack running from the back of the head unit as an auxiliary in. Notable maintenance - New Genuine Radiator fitted 5883 miles ago. - New Genuine Inner/Outer Track rod ends fitted 5883 miles ago. - Driver’s side window regulator (Renault fitted) 5262 miles ago. - New O/S Driveshaft fitted 1382 miles ago. - New Lower Steady Bar Fitted 1382 miles ago. - New Drop links fitted 1382 miles ago. Bad points - As mentioned above the bodywork is not immaculate, and a machine polish would yield benefits. - The calliper paint is worn and fading. The previous owner decided to paint them white but it seems they used quite a thin paint. If you wanted the car mint you’d probably want to repaint them.
Update - Over the weekend there was a strange noise coming from the AC compressor, a bit of a whir / whine. The AC still worked perfectly, so I'm not sure what the fault actually is. I also managed to catch the face of the front passenger alloy and cause some minor cosmetic scuffing. Because of this I've reduced the price. Price reduced to £6750
