As title says i need to remove the lower plastic bodywork from the tailgate of my R26. How do i get this off? When open I can see the edge of the boot is rusting under the plastic bodywork. Its only a 2008 model, anyone else noticed theirs rusting; i was quite surprised tbh. Thanks, Tom
There are four screws if I remember right, two are under the rubber stoppers on the left and right edge so just twist these out. One you can see once you remove the lower interior trim, however, the last bugger is the one that took me ages to find and you need to remove the catch in the tailgate to get to this one!! I think they are all t20 screws as well. Once you have them all it will literally drop off.
Awesome thanks Keiron. The catch to the tailgate being the locking mechanism or the button on the outside? Sorry
From my thread re. Numberplate loom... New lamps come with the lamp housings luckily. Just done the job this aft. Took about an hour. There are 6 bolts in total, 2 under the bungs/bumpers in the corners of the boot and 1 under the boot lock itself. The other 3 are visible with the trim off in the boot. The middle one of these is a star head bolt. Not sure what size. Its a really easy job! I'll try to write this again, maybe as a guide but wanted to get my thoughts down before I forgot it all!<br/>
PS I didn't have to bend anything out the way. I did remove the mechanism for the boot lock but its really obvious and just a case of unclipping the loom and unbolting.
Thanks Chris, sorry i've been away hence the late reply. Not tried this yet but will soon. Best get my sand paper and spray paint at the ready to remove that rust!!!
