Removing rear view mirror

  1. How's it done? Someone said it just pulls up but mine is really stiff and tried tapping with a rubber mallet but no luck :-/

  2. It'll just slide off fella it's on two rails just gently persuade it.

  3. As above, slide it down towards the front of the car, might help if you keep constant pressure on it when tapping with the mallet......

  4. Done it, just twisted and pulled it off as it wasn't shifting

    Thanks

  5. Good photo that, can anyone confirm if the auto dim rear view mirror is easily retro-fitted onto a car without? Is it powered via that plug which appears to be wrapped in cloth to prevent rattles?

  6. Exactly right mate, just changed mine a couple of days ago, hardest bit is getting the mirror on/ off

  7. Perfect, thanks for the confirmation, I'll be on the lookout for an auto-dim rear mirror now! Did you get yours from Renault direct or was it a second hand item? Did you get it off Ads?

  8. No picked mine up off ebay, cant remember how much for as i bought it a while ago but no more than £15 i think
