Recent trip to the Mach loop, Wales

  1. Last Wednesday my Dad and I got up at 4am to make the long trip to Snowdonia for 3 days of Low level photography in the Mach loop, Unfortunately the weather on the Friday was awful so I got a few shots of my car instead.
    First up the RAF low level Wednesday and Thursday
    1. Our first jet was this RAF Panavia Tornado GR4 from RAF Marham in Norfolk.

  4. Surprised 097 made it off the deck It's a nail it's a 31sqn jet.

  5. Thanks very much guys tis much appreciated. 097 does look as though it's been through a rough time lately with the different colored panels all over it. Top planking Boardy haha
     
  6. If you go to the tattoo again next year mate give me a shout and a will get you some tickets, I'm out the RAF now but still got loads of mates still in so will not be a problem.

  8. The Tornado pics are amazing!!! I wondered whether you would see these Lee!! :smile:

    I used to live in Machynlleth Mid Wales and loved seeing all the planes going over back in the day
     
  9. Yes mate, they are awesome, spent 7 years at Marham!
    Here are a few more of 097, It ingested a bird and destroyed an engine out in afghan. Spent 2 months on the deck after being repaird!

    My fave area for a day road trip in the meg is in the low fly zone in the scottish borders, but hardly any movements these days, its St Mary's Loch
