250 Recaro upgrade - fitting questions.

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by -Chris-, Aug 3, 2016.

  1. I've sourced a set of Recaros for my 250 Cup. They are coming from another 250. My car currently has the std RS sport seats.

Are the Recaros simply plug and play or do I need to source different connectors? Also will I need to programme them in with clip/fit a resistor or anything?

    Cheers

  2. Normally straight swap plug n play, reprograme via clip or use a resistor kit.

  3. The physical fitment is the same (4 bolts underneath each seat) and the plugs should fit fine. You may need a resistor kit for the seat airbags. I came from the leather / heated standard seats to a set of Recaros and havent been able to find a place to reprogram the warning lights that pop up yet. RS Tuning couldn't do it but Ktec might be able to help as I think they have some special Clip software.

  4. Renault reset mine in my old clio 197

  5. Cheers guys. It's in for a service with Mick at diamond motors later this month. I'll ask if he can do it.

Sadly the seats won't be with me by then else I'd ask him to program them along with the service (if he can). He's only 20 miles away so another trip wouldn't hurt.

How much did Renault charge you Ryan?

  6. Think it was around £90, the price of a diagnostics charge. But i have heard people say that not all renault dealerships will do it. Mine did, and did a safety check aswel.

  7. £34 each for a resistor. Even at £90 for Renault to re-programme it works out better as I'll be in the knowledge that the airbags will actually work if needed.
