Hey, My o/s rear wheel bearing has been whirring the last few weeks and gradually getting louder . . . I'm planning on storing the car over Winter so didn't want to spend a load of money on it just yet. Although I've yet to find a replacement daily car, how long is it safe to drive with a worn bearing? Or is it downright dangerous and requiring an emergency repair? Thanks, Rich
+1, you need to get the wheel in the air and check you can't feel any free play Often the bearing will sound like crap way before the free play becomes apparent but you should get it replaced. Won't pass an MOT with a duff wheel bearing
I warned someone about there's [both rears making a loud noise] on a Honda Jazz. He went on a EU tour and did 3k miles alright!! Sigh Sigh Cheers Abndy
Cheers for the peace of mind guys . . . Gave the wheel a good wobble before driving it the weekend and there is no play.
