Guys, I'm looking to get an anti-dazzle rear view mirror off ebay ... Will the mirrors from a scenic or phase1 megane still fit a phase2? Cheers
I have recently fitted one myself from a scenic, so I would day yes. Be careful when removing the mirror from your car, the mirror is held in place by a spring loaded clip that attaches to a plate that's bonded to the windscreen. I would get one from a scrappy if you can only payed a fiver for mine, and you get to see how it's removed.
Nice one! I've phoned 3 scrappys that are near me and 2 had meganes but neither had the anti-dazzle mirror. Is it just the mirror and clip I need then use my original base?
The mirror and the the arm come as one, the power cable passes through the ball joint on the mirror. this will just clip onto your existing plate that's bonded to the windscreen.
I know mate ... my old 1.4 53 plate megane had it but an R26 doesn't ... its mental!! Ive been meaning to do it since the start of the year but these dark nights have reminded me how bad the glare is! Got it for 12.49 delivered in the end so will get it fitted as soon as it arrives ... if I'm stuck ill pm you lol
The hardest bit is getting the old mirror off! i found a few taps with a hammer helped, but be careful - you don't want to crack your windscreen!
Yeah no problem mate, Ah that's not to bad was going to say I could probably get you one ten quid posted, but for price saves you waiting until I had been the scrappy! As said above the hardest part is getting the thing off, that's why it was good getting it off myself at the scrappy so I knew what score was.
