175 DCI Rear tyres, outer half wear

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by L-1011, May 24, 2017.

  1. The rears on my 175 are due a change.

They are UR RS3 and have done 30k in two years.

What's interesting is the outer half of the contact patch is definitely more worn than the inner half. With the inner half showing about +2/3mm over the outer which is now on the wear bar.

Car is on Eibach springs with cup dampers all box fresh last summer.

Also I put new discs on last winter so bearings are fine.

The camber looks negative which is why I am surprised on the wear pattern. Some feathering on the inner edge.

As I understand it the RS175 has the R26 rear setup so is this normal wear?

Anyone advise on normal rear tyre wear.

Car spends most of its time at speed on a motorway. Rear pressures set to 31 psi and checked weekly

  2. No one comment on how their rear tyres wear?

  3. Mine wore slightly more on the inside edges which is what I would have expected. Maybe 1mm though, nothing drastic.
