So you first pull the trim off, it's plugged into the boot lid, then there are 4 bolts on each side of the inside of bootlid (underneath the ends of the spoiler) then there are around 4 screws inside the boot lid, mine had tape covering four holes, when you remove the tape you can see the screws (torque type), remove these bolts and the spoiler is lose, however some plugs hold it in place, give a small amount of pressure and the spoiler comes lose. Put a towel on the top of the car to rest the spoiler on, at this point it's still held in place by the brake light connections, I found it easier to remove the three screws to loosen the brake light, use fingers to push the clips so light can come lose, you can now get to the connections from the other side. Undo connections and your done!
How is the 3rd brake light fixed?, is it clipped in or screwed? Can it be removed with the wing on the car? Many thanks Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
Hi, you have to remove the spoiler to remove the spoiler to remove the third brake light, after you remove the spoiler you flip it over and you can see it's held in place with three small torque screws, in addition to the torque screws there are three clips holding it in place, you can push these clips and the light can be pushed out also, however there are to connections to the brake light also, looks like one is a standard electrical connection and the other is just a basic clip in connection, I think it's an antenna, anyway I found it difficult to get my fingers in to loosen the connection, so I removed the screws and pushed on the clips so that the light can push out of the spoiler just enough to get at the connections from the other side, much easier this way... nb put a towel on your roof to protect the paintwork before you attempt this..
Sorry bad grammar lol. Just to be clear, you remove all screws on spoiler, then spoiler is still held in place with clips, with quite a bit of force it unclips, hence the need for towel to protect paintwork, because spoiler pops of, much easier if someone holds the other end, once it pops off then you flip the spoiler over, that's when you can now see the brake light and the screws and connections holding it in place, hope that is more clear
Was looking at removing mine when I can source a facelift/trophy/265 spoiler. If anyone knows of one for sale or a car that has one which is breaking for parts let me know
