Rear fog light connection.

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Adam, Apr 21, 2014.

  1. Decided to take both my rear lights off for the first time yesterday and replace one of the blown brake lights i had. Everything works and connects up fine on the drivers side the passenger side however is slightly different. I noticed the separate fog light that's at the top wasn't connected up and the connector was just hanging there. Turns out it is a different block so won't connect together.

Its a little confusing as the drivers side has the same lamp holder and connection and all works. The passenger side has the same lamp holder connection but the connector from the wiring loom is different but looks standard. Any idea what's happened or why it is different?

    Thanks.

  2. Only one is connected from the factory, which side depends on what side drive the car is.
It is normal (if not a bit cheap on Renault's part). You only get one.

It's stupid IMO because most Megane II vehicles have an actual bulb in both sides. I understand how it is a cost saving but why build seperate LHD and RHD rear looms to only have one work when the cost of building a LHD/RHD rear loom would be negligible.

  4. No idea. It. Bothered me for ages before I accepted - well I never see them when they're on anyway.
