Rear brake pads

  1. I need to change my rear pads. Any recommendations? I want a good quality at that'll do the job properly. This pads are just be needed for road use as if I was going to go on track I'd buy new pads alround.

  2. I fitted Brembo branded basic pad at around £25 off ebay.

  3. Kind of depends what you're running up front. Fitting £100 pads to rear and £25 up front will affect your brake bias horribly

  4. Well. It hasn't. The friction coefficient of the £100 Z-rated is only very slightly higher than oe/Brembo. No added weight transfer, even on a hot lap.

  5. I'll probably go with Brembos. Thanks

  6. Any ceramic pads will be enough for your needs. Ceramic's are know to produce less dust also.

  7. Only a relatively small percentage of the braking (circa 10%-20%) on a non-race FWD car comes from the rear therefore sometimes fitting uprated pads (having already uprated the fronts) can actually reduce braking power due them not getting hot enough. I've always been advised just to stick with standard on the rear on all my track-day projects therefore the same would definitely apply for "fast-road".
