265 Rear brake disc question

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by nfp40uk, Jul 1, 2018.

  1. OK, so needed discs and pads are round on my 2014 265. I sourced grooved discs and took them along to my trusted garage for fitting. When I returned later that day, the mechanic said he had only fitted the front discs and pads, because the rear disc grooves faced both the same way (scratches head in confusion). When I looked both 'right' and 'left' grooved discs were indeed facing the same direction. I didn't understand his rationale. Can anyone explain why he wouldn't fit them, or was he being a little pedantic???

    Thanks in advance

  2. That’s how they are. They are not handed.

  3. Yes correct not handed, given this is how most discs apart from hi end Ali belled rotors are supplied to motor industry would thought your fitter should know this
