R26 Rear bearing question.

  1. Hi,
My cars at the doctors just now getting a rear wheel bearing replaced (hopefully)
Is it possible to replace the bearing without having to replace the disc?

  2. Yes but for the cost of new discs vs bearings you may aswell just swap the disc over.

Worth noting the mk2s had different wheel bearing sizes on the rear dependant on age and model type so make sure any replacement parts will fit your car first!

  3. I've heard of it being done on a 225, but not an r26. It's probably better to change the discs though. However, they will more than likely be off the shelf bearings so you should be able to press them out and press new in.

  4. Cheers. It's a trustworthy garage. Used them with a few cars and never let me down.

  5. Be interested to know the outcome I've got new discs to go on.. and all the info I found said there's no way of replacing the bearing alone.. saying that my discs are the originals so about time I changed them!
