265 Rear beam bushes

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Paul ja, Jun 16, 2019.

  1. Fitted powerflex rear beam bushes (purple ones), plenty of lube as supplied in the box

Also fitted suspension - rear coilovers

Now have a squeak from the rear

Could it be the bushes ? Anyone else experienced the same issue

I've heard stories of squeaky bushes after a period of use but not the day after !

  2. Poly bushes squeaking - not uncommon at all. As I'm sure you did torque the bolts up with the car sitting at normal driving height, maybe try to undo the bolts a little and retorque them - let the bushes settle again as maybe the bushes aren't sitting perfectly yet, at their correct ride height.

Just a guess though, and it could be these particular bushes just squeak anyway..

  3. got them on a Mk2 and no squeak what so ever, the lub is purrely for fitment ease anyway as it is water based lub it dry off eventually so no help from it.

Have you tried to contact powerflex to find out if it could be an issue.
Maybe ask a mate to push on the rear while you listen with you ear close.

  4. Thanks for your input - will be under it tonight !
