Rear badges, your thoughts

  1. Use a clay bar on it.. should clean it up nicely... or a little bit of auto glym polish the red lable one.. can't remember what it's called now..

  2. I was thinking of removing the "MEGANE" from the back of my 250. Do they just pull off and leave the paint intact underneath?

  3. I ran some tcut around the metal letters soften up the adhesive beneath and then used some dental floss to slowly cut the letters off. Then lots of tcut to take off the remaining adhesive tcut makes it free up v easily and then to polish the paint up

    Much better imo

  5. Thanks, I'll give it a go

  6. Shouldn't really need to use T-Cut, it's not really ideal to use on lacquered paint.

Hairdryer to soften the glue, dental floss behind the badges to remove them then something like Autoglym Bug & Tar remover will dissolve the glue holding the badges on. A light polish will clear up anything left behind.

  7. I just removed mine on Sunday night, it's left a very slight residue so i'll give that bug and tar remover a go. Cheers for that!

  8. Worked fine for me, only used a little to encourage the adhesive to come off bit I'd agree bug and tar would be preferable

  9. Oh I'm sure it was fine mate, it's just quite harsh stuff so gotta be used delicately haha.

  10. I've always wanted to debadge the rear of mine but I'm scared to find out if the rear has been blown over at any point and the MEGANE letters weren't removed for painting!

  11. What's the best way to remove the MEGANE badge?

  12. Fishing line or dental floss and some solvent to remove the remaining glue.

  13. Cheers mate.
