Hi, Is there any way of reading the oil temperature on an R26 via the OBD port? I've got the Torque Pro app but isn't showing. I presume the car doesn't have a proper oil temperature sensor as standard? If not how are people monitoring their oil temp? Standalone gauge with the sensor in an oil filter sandwich plate? Cheers
Yeah, there's no sensor as standard. You'd either need to use a sensor on a sandwich plate like you said or a pickup from the sump/sump plug.
Cheers for confirming what I thought. Not keen on reading the temperature from the sump so will pick up a sandwich plate.
Chances are I'll go for a Zada-tech OLED single gauge and make a housing to mount it up in the where the clock display is. http://zada-tech.com/products/single-gauges/oled-digital-single-oil-temperature-gauge What's the easiest route for getting the sensor cable though the bulkhead into the engine bay?
Remove the glove box (there's a guide on here) and then you'll see a big rubber grommet that goes through the bulkhead.
