Raising Recaros for more leg support

  1. Has anyone ever done this? The Recaros in my R26 are the least comfortable I've ever used. After about 3 hours of driving my lower back starts hurting. I've tried all variations of seat/steering wheel positions and the one that is least painful is seat furthest back, wheel fully extended and in its lowest position. The issue then is that I can only just reach 1st and 3rd gears and the steering wheel. I'm 6'4" and notice that only my arse and upper hamstrings touch the chair. I can move that sliding cushion around but it makes no difference as my legs don't touch it.

I can drive my girlfriend's Kia Picanto for 5 hours straight in great comfort. As the seat is much higher, my legs are properly supported.

Any ideas apart from changing the seats?

  2. Raising the seat on the front mounts by 1cm aprox that will tilt the whole seat.
