Rad coolant cold

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Wmrs250, Feb 25, 2015.

  1. Hi, been trying to bleed my radiator by squeezing the pipes and having the engine running with the coolant tank cap off, I've got the heaters blowing really hot but my coolant tank and the thick rad hose by the coolant tank is stone cold, I've got the temp needle to half way before I turned it off, fans never kicked in so I assume there's a problem, anyone got any info or tips to what I'm doing wrong?

  3. Cheers for reply mate, do you know where the housing is, I might have to take a few things out before I find it

Its in a housing bolted to the side of the head above the gearbox, if that helps lol

  5. Yeah mate lol as long as I know roughly where to look, I'll be ordering a thermostat today, forgot to mention I can also hear running water in my car when I start the engine, there's no water leaking but it's weird, sounds like a stream if that makes sense

Probably air in the cooling system, just needs bleeding.

  7. Thanks mate, you've been a big help
