Hi all, need some advice please, I've noticed the car is doing a bit of a wobble left and right while making small steering adjustments or under hard acceleration. Also not sure if it's related but there is a noise that sounds like someone has attached a very loud cats toy bell under the car. It rings and jingles over every bump or stone you go over. Thought maybe bolt but not sure where to look. Any pics people can provide of things to look at would be hugely appreciated. Thanks
I'd be looking at the hubs, when the bearings get stuff a bolt with a washer can work it's way loose causing the jingle noise
That makes sense as the hubs were playing up big time and then seemed to sort themselves out, the car is booked in for Monday so it's ultra sensible driving till then. Thanks for the reply really appreciated
Yeah that will be it, they get really stiff/ won't self centre then the bolt works it way loose and they get a bit better! If you tighten the bolt back up your hub goes stiff again until it works loose, hub bearing replacement from the sounds of it
So I've had the bearing replaced but I'm finding the car still has a little vibration that you can hear just as I pull away and then goes after a couple of seconds. Any ideas?
Little vibration? Through the clutch pedal by any chance? Does it only happen when pulling away at low revs? I.e. before the clutch is fully engaged? Mine started doing that a while back I thought it was the dmf, changed the clutch and fly for a smf and its fine (turned out the clutch only had a few thousand miles at best left anyway
I'll double check as I thought it was doing it once I was completely off the clutch pedal buy yes it's at low revs as I first pull away.
