R26 timing belt interval

  1. Hi guys,

Picked up an R26 last month and just had a quick question about the timing belt and water pump interval. Now I'm aware it's 5 years/75k - according to the service history this car had it done at 35k in Sept 13 so I'm assuming I should get it done soon.

The question is can I wait till next year considering the car has only done 45k since it was last done? How important is age vs mileage in this situation?

    Cheers.

  2. Anyone?

  3. Hi William
If you've just got the car, I'd do it anyway, just in case.
    Then you know its okay.

  4. It's possible nobody really knows. Given that it's a plastic I would guess that age is a significant factor. But that's a guess.

    I wouldn't risk it.

  5. Thanks guys, I'll get onto it asap. Better to be safe than sorry.

Roughly how much should this be and do you know anywhere in the South that you could recommend?

  6. If you're anywhere near Dartford go to Two Techs. They know these cars inside out.
