How many replaceable parts are there in the meganes steering rack? I have done the steering bush in mine,but still feel the steering is not as sharp as it was. Would it actually be cheaper to just change the rack?
Its just pissing me off..steering just feels odd..worse on long sweeping bends,just feels like the rack is loose. The bush certainly helped..but its not what it was. Seems a lot of these age cars are having steering issues..
Mine is a 2004 225, a couple of years ago it was an advisory that the rack bush was worn, so bought a rack bush, when i put everything back together the steering was very tight in the center, pulled it all apart again, when i turn the steering from left to right, i saw that the rod in the rack was rusty, so was getting tight through the bush, so had to change the whole rack, somehow water must have got in and made the shaft rusty, so might be worth a quick check before putting in the bush.
