R26 Remap help

  1. Hi guys,

I am contemplating getting my R26 mapped a efi but am worried about it going pop as I mainly use it as my track car

I have all the mods installed needed to make 280bhp ish which is what I’m after ( 630cc injectors not installed yet of course lol!)

Anybody had there R26 mapped at efi and then done track days with around 280ish bhp?

    Thanks

  2. Whoever maps it, 280hp is getting towards the maximum a standard lump can take.
No definitive proof that higher end HP/lb/ft kills them.
But the general thoughts are 300lb/ft/HP is the absolute limit.

My own car has been running 290lb/ft for well over 6 years.
This is with a RS Tuning map.

  3. Tempted to go for a safe map, about 265 and 280 torque least it’s a slight improvement over standard power

  4. big improvement on standard power delivery,
and will transform the way it delivers its power.
my car has 270hp,and with its high torque figure, its perfectly balanced on the road.
You can use all the power, with only the slightest flicker at times of the traction control.
Ktec induction kit also helps to free up a bit more in the higher rev range.
