Looking for a new car and the r26 caught my eye - well a 2nd hand new car that is. Looking to spend 6k ish , is there anything I should look out for? I know old renaults had terrible reliability issues, have these been solved with the new models? On paper they look like amazing cars jus trying to find one local to test drive one. Trying to avoid the easy choice of a golf gti
R26 is now at least 6 years old so looking for major service in history is a must cam belt, aux belt and water pump. Wear items are the main things but if you can get a looked after example , from a member here you should be ok.
Going to look at one today and will go from there, think I might pay for one of those aa rac inspections to be safe
Have you got a link for the advert. Id defiantly have a look out for previous repairs done and ask the owner if they have receipts to give you peace of mind about Not having to replace yourself. Main bits - play in the steering denotes track rods and ends - rev counter lumpy on idle denotes injectors
Two from the a1 ortos site, it's near my sisters where we are going today so just going to take a look. They seem to have a bad rep so might not buy from them
