R26 exhaust

Discussion in 'Megane Discussion' started by Jamie Crookston, May 3, 2014.

  1. Yesterday my standard exhaust system. It has rotted just before the back box. I reckon the exhaust has been off before as where it's fell apart it looks like it's been welded. Question is, do I buy another standard system or go for a milltek?

  2. If u plan on keeping the car then it's a good reason to go miltec :tongueout:

  3. Yeah planning to keep the car, so a milltek would be a good idea. Anyone know roughly how much a new standard system is?

  4. Not sure tbh. Could you not sleeve where it has broken?

  5. Just had a look again and I reckon it could have a new sleeve put on it.

  6. Back box chop?

  7. Has anyone else noticed that the exhaust makes a big difference for insurance? We declare it and it jumps from £400 a year to nearly £600.
for something that looks standard, makes little difference to performance and is probably cheaper to replace than Renault parts.

I assume you're not with a specialist insurer? You're run of the mill insurer will be useless with most mods.

  9. Not keen on a back box chop tbh.

  10. Back box chop is such a pikey mod.

You should buy a Miltek ;-)

  11. I've had quotes with Adrian Flux and the likes before. Found them to be no different in price.

  12. I'm with quote me happy and they never changed my premium price when I put my milltek on

  13. Do those exhaust modifications affect MOT?

  14. Nah, mine goes straight through. Milltek cat-back with mid box chop.
I'd be interested what people with a decat do though.

  15. Find a freindly mot tester or fit the cat for test

  16. With just a cat back system it doesn't affect the mot at all
